1. How do I place an order?
You may configure your server by using an online order wizard. You can either purchase the server online or ask for a salesperson LINK TO CONTACT FORM that will contact you. Alternatively, you may also call us toll free at 888.769.5062 .
2. What methods of payment do you accept?
Westmaster accepts all major credit cards (AmEx, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Diners Club), check and bank wire (USA and EU). You will be invoiced before your server goes online, and then each month thereafter.
3. Will Westmaster move my domain to my new server for me?
Yes. We can help you move to your new server, but remember that it's a difficult process and your assistance will be required.
4. What are your network connections?
Our state-of-the-art network is fully switched using Cisco network gear and is engineered with full redundancy to ensure there is no single point of failure. The Westmaster network is multi-homed with Ethernet 1000TX connections through Ebone, WorldCom and Teleglobe.
5. What are your network speeds?
To test our network speeds to any domain on the web please visit our network part of this web site.
6. Will I have Root Control (Super User Access)?
Yes, you will have a complete "root" access on your server and you can add as many domains as you like. You are welcomed to install any software you like on your server without restrictions and you can resell services at any rate. We can help you with additional software installation.
7. Is there a guarantee on hardware components?
Yes. In the event of a hardware-related problem, we will immediately replace any defective component at no cost to you. Replacements are usually made within 4 hours. You will be notified by an e-mail once the problem is resolved.
8. Will Westmaster Corp. monitor my server?
Yes! Westmaster offers two levels of server monitoring - Basic and Advanced. The Basic monitoring is for free. With The Basic, the server is scanned every 5 minutes to ensure proper functionality. If your server is down (no ping), we will restart it. In this case, you will be notified by our technicians too. With The Advanced Monitoring, we will monitor all services on your server (Web, Mail, Database).
9. What is your policy on bandwidth?
It depends on a data plan. If you are paying per data, your bandwidth is fully burstable. If you choose a dedicated line, your traffic will be shaped by our Cisco router.
10. How is bandwidth measured?
Bandwidth usage is measured from samples taken at the Cisco switch. You will have an access to the area of our site that will give you the total bandwidth used by your server to date as measured at the switch. We charge you for both incoming and outgoing traffic.
11. How do I upgrade my bandwidth? Is there an upgrade fee?
All bandwidth upgrades are done with no setup fee, only the incremental monthly pricing applies. This can be determined from the bandwidth section of our configurator. To upgrade your bandwidth please contact sales or your Account Manager.
12. Can I get a statistics program installed on my server?
We provide a free webalizer and urchin log analyzers.
