Directory structure

Your home dir is (you will see this when you login using ftp or ssh):

/home/www/yourlogin/

The full path of your domain root directory looks like this:

/home/www/yourlogin/yourdomain.com/htdocs

Your cgi-bin directory is:

/home/www/yourlogin/yourdomain.com/cgi-bin

every file located in this directory is treated as cgi script (even it hasn't .cgi suffix)

Your domain raw logs are in:

/home/www/yourlogin/yourdomain.com/logs

They are also made in graphics, so you can view detailed and transparent statistics of your web on address www.yourdomain.com/stats

Login and password is the same as for FTP account.

Operating system

We use Slackware Linux operating system for virtual servers, which provide excellent stability and performance. We are watching the security problems carefully and install all needful security patches immediately. Data back-up is executed every day.

Webserver

We use powerful Apache webserver, which provides reliable WWW pages running. It's installed with modules for PHP and CGI support. Also allowes FrontPage and secure HTTPS protocol access support.

Mailserver

We dispose with powerful and stable mailserver sendmail, which makes possible:

• POP3 protocol email download, also via secured SSL protocol
• SMTP protocol email sending, login and password authentication is neccessary when sending

Email reading via POP3/IMAP

Email sending and reading is possible with using your favourite mail client.

We support POP3 and IMAP protocol, in secured versions of course. The manual for most used programs is here.

WebMail

You should send and receive emails through www interface easily. Login and password is the same as for FTP account. This service is also through customer Control panel available.

All communication is proceeded in secured mode of course.

FTP - File Transfer Protocol

FTP protocol ensure internet network file transfer. You can use it for easy page actualization by connecting to our FTP server.

Every customer gaines login and password to use for FTP server connecting. After succesful login the home directory is displayed. Connection is available also using our Control panel.

WebFTP

You should actualize your web pages using www interface easily. You can upload new files, rewrite existing or remove useless files from anywhere where you have access to internet and browser with secure connection support.

Login and password is the same as for FTP account. This service is also through customer Control panel available.

Statistics

Transparent statistics are generated by Webalizer software for every domain. You should view these statistics on address www.yourdomain.com/stats.

Login and password is the same as for FTP account.

PHP

PHP programming language is more and more popular. Also you can brighten your pages using this excellent and reliable tool and replace the static pages with dynamic pages. You gain powerful tool for your web in combination with databasis, which allowes you internet application using, such as internet shop, publication system, own statistics, automaticaly generated content etc. For web or application creating services you can employ our webdesign services.

All files with *.php or *.php3 extension will be parsed by Apache webserver PHP module. We have the latest PHP4 version installed.

CGI (Common Gateway Interface)

CGI is one of the tools for creating dynamic www pages. Every script runs as independent process and the result of this process is send for processing to web browser.

Every customer can create his own CGI scripts, which he has to move to specific directory. You may use for example PERL programming language for own CGI scripts developing.

PERL

The offer list of programming languages is wider in Westmaster than in conventional webhostings. That's why PHP is not the only offered language. Every customer can use pre-installed programming language called PERL, now in version 5.6.0 or newer.

Executing command in terminal is /usr/bin/perl.

MySQL

As data source for your dynamic www pages can serve very fast and powerful database system MySQL. MySQL database system connection is commonplace. Login and password is the same as for FTP account.

Access through terminal command line (SSH) or through PHP and PERL connect functions is possible.
